Matthew Telesca

Matthew Telesca is an accomplished American businessman, serial entrepreneur, and investor. In May 2000, he founded MGN Logistics, Inc., becoming an early pioneer in web-based transportation solutions. Later that year, Telesca launched LogisticsQuote.com, one of the first fully automated LTL marketplaces, which saw rapid growth fueled by eBay customers seeking shipping options. By March 2004, Telesca sold the website to private equity investors for an undisclosed amount. Soon after, he acquired D & S Transportation, a Boston-based freight management company, and introduced a digital platform that would become the backbone of MGN’s proprietary Transportation Management Software (TMS). Under his leadership, MGN expanded rapidly, opening offices in Philadelphia, Boston, Orlando, and Santiago, Dominican Republic, by 2013. In 2014, Telesca acquired Laser Transportation Systems, a New Jersey-based brokerage specializing in full truckload shipments, and MGN was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. The next year, MGN expanded further, acquiring Discount Diesel, BuyTruckload.com, and a Chicago-based digital brokerage with proprietary truckload pricing software. These additions transformed MGN’s freight platform into one of the most advanced TMS solutions in the market. In 2018, Telesca added a parcel auditing company with state-of-the-art rerating and auditing technology to MGN’s portfolio, incorporating it into their next-generation MyMGN TMS. July 2021 brought the acquisition of Republic Logistic Services, a Sacramento-based niche truckload service provider, further cementing MGN’s prominence in the industry. A major milestone came in February 2019, when Telesca launched AI Logistics LLC in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Recognizing the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in logistics and supply chain management, AI Logistics was established to integrate blockchain technology, machine learning, and AI into antiquated industry processes and set a new standard for efficiency and collaboration between logistics and technology professionals. In 2022, MGN achieved another significant milestone by acquiring Lindsey Forwarders, the largest hay exporter in the United States, underscoring its ability to integrate complex logistics operations across diverse markets. Telesca’s groundbreaking work with both MGN Logistics and AI Logistics led to his ultimate accolade in 2023: both companies making the coveted Inc. 5000 list. While MGN secured its place as an eight-time honoree, AI Logistics debuted on the list as the sole Puerto Rico-based company recognized that year. These accolades showcase his ability to drive exceptional growth while navigating challenges. Today, MGN Logistics and AI Logistics are leaders in transportation technology, generating over $60 million in combined annual revenue.
